Bio

Mr. Shelby is entering his 16th year in school counseling and 5th year as a School Counselor at North Central High School. He begins his second year as 7th grade Head Football Coach at Northview Middle School. He has been in education and working with youth for over twenty years. He previously coached football at Northview, Eastwood, and North Central High School. He holds a master’s degree from Butler University, and graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urban and North Central High School. Mr. Shelby is an Indiana Football All-Star and received a D-1 scholarship to play football in the Big Ten Conference. Mr. Shelby is passionate about helping youth develop as confident and capable learners and leaders. His wife Beth is also a graduate of North Central High School and is currently the Art Teacher at Nora Elementary. She is a former North Central High School volleyball coach and D-1 scholarship volleyball athlete. Their boys, Xavier and Isaac, attend school in Washington Township.
